The following outline is a chauffeur-training program used in the limousine industry. The driver-training program consists of 3 training modules.
Chauffeur Training Module #1
1) Dress Code: Clean pressed Black suit, black tie and starched white shirt, black belt, black socks and shiny black lace up dress shoes. Hair neat and regulation cut. Hands clean & nails neatly trimmed. White gloves.
2) Overview of the "personal service industry"; butlers, maids, concierges etc.,
3) Expectations of the limo chauffeur & VIP Limo Services company
4) Operational & Procedures Checklist: Start of Shift; Bookings; Destinations; Client Briefing & Special Requests; Welcome; Stand By; Documentation; Pick-Up; The Drive; Drop-Off; Communications with the Ops Centre.
5) On Duty Checklist on receiving the duty car
6) The types of services offered & their unique requirements
7) Overview of rates, packages, overtime on packages & additional charges (see above)
8) The reservations process, computer system entry & trip ticket information
9) Chauffeur paperwork, inspection forms, incident reporting, billing etc.
10) Limo mechanics (Dual alternators/batteries, belts, circuit breakers,etc.)
11) Pre-Trip Safety Inspections/Declaring a vehicle OUT OF SERVICE
12) Extra keys, communications systems, traffic & flight monitoring.
13) Parking, map reading, common address schemes, highway call-boxes.
14) Passenger orientation, assisting passengers in & out of vehicles.
15) Loading luggage
Chauffeur Training Module #2
1) Overview of the garage and vehicle
2) Perform limo safety inspection, location of first aid kits, fire extinguishers etc.
3) Review accident kits, completion of, procedures when involved
4) Tire changing equipment and the use of, procedures with passengers.
5) Review supply locations of oil, liquor, soft drinks, ice, cleaning supplies etc.
6) Vehicle & trip prepping
7) During the trip car servicing. Fuelling operations, clean-up, glass washing
8) Post-trip cleaning, paperwork, procedures
Chauffeur Training Module #3
1) Vehicle prepped by trainee for trip
2) Trainee rides along: Freeway driving, city driving, backing, tight quarters, etc.
3) Supervisor/Trainee Lunch & Review
4) Trainee driving on dry run
5) Trainee demonstrates skills with cones
6) Supervisor/Trainee review in garage
7) Trainee provided with Anti-Drug Plan & Alcohol Misuse Plan for review
8) Trainee views videos regarding drug/alcohol policies & signs agreement.
9) Introduction to office personnel, completion of new hire paperwork.
Chauffeur Training Notes
1) Previous employer verified, reviewed & posted in Master Log
2) Trainee scheduled for ride-along with Field Supervisor or Senior Chauffeur
3) Trainee completes ride-along; performs all duties of the chauffeur.
4) Trainee, Field Supervisor/Trainer and General Manager have lunch together.
5) Trainee scheduled for first trip & advised
6) Trainee completes first trip with Field Supervisor/Trainer as a ride-along.
7) Driver scheduled for first solo run & entered into system with availability info
8) Driver continues through VIP Limo Services company certification program during tenure

* Ride-along are completed on "Vendor Appreciation" rides in which a vendor is complemented with a ride in "appreciation".
